Hi, welcome to my site. It’s a bit of an eclectic mix of all the work that I do, but I love doing it all so why limit myself?

I started off as most people do, doodling and painting as a kid, but I think I’d say I really got interested in art when I picked up an airbrush when I was twelve. My sister gave me a couple of fantasy art books by Chris Achilleos and Borris Vallejo and I was hooked. I spent years trying to emulate their styles and techniques to varying degrees of success but never gave up.

In my early twenties, I wanted to try and produce some layered work using airbrushing but couldn’t achieve the result I desired until my mum suggested working on glass. I spent a year at the International Glass Centre at the heart of glass country – Brierley Hill, West Midlands – and quickly found out that I could do so much more than I originally thought I wanted to. I’ll be the first to admit that I was useless at glass blowing but I was the first at the college to be awarded the John Davies memorial award for glass decoration. So, I now commission talented glass blowers to blow the glass for me to my specifications and spend my time on the sandblasting, etching and finishing.

Working with three-dimensional objects really opened up a new world for me and I decided to incorporate that into my painting as well. So, using my motorbike as a guinea pig, I fully customised the paintwork, going back to my original love of airbrushing. Switching from art-board to motorbike parts is a steep learning curve but, with the paints and finishes available now, you can achieve some amazing results – and riding one of these custom painted machines really makes you stand out from the crowd.

Now, I work as an Art Director for a design studio, taking my groundwork in airbrushing and art into the digital field. This medium allows me to explore a whole range of illustrative techniques and mix my traditional and digital skills. And the digital world is still expanding. The Adobe creative suite opens the door but when you enter into programmes such as Maxon Cinema 4d, the possibilities truly are endless. A world which I would love to explore more… when I get time.

This site is eclectic because I still love working in all these aspects of artwork. So, if you’d like your motorbike custom painted, to commission a beautiful piece of etched glasswork or would like me to design or illustrate something for you or your company, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Just go to the contact page and fill in the form or click the email link and I’ll get back to you.
